CO Firefighter Responds to Broncos' Home Games in Orange Truck

Oct. 7, 2022
Rob Garner, aka 'Rescue Rob,' designated his rig 'Broncos Country Engine 7' after John Elway.

When the Denver Bronco's play at home, there are fan favorites that have never made it onto the field.

An orange fire truck and its driver, 'Rescue' Rob Garner have become a beloved staple in the Empower Field parking lot.

Garner, a firefighter with Poudre Fire Authority, told CBS4 reporters he treasurers the helmet his wife painted and designed for him. He also sports leather suspenders engraved with Denver Broncos, a gift from a fellow firefighter.

He bought an old fire truck he found parked along a South Dakota road, and renovated it. He admitted he spent more on the rehab than the engine formerly owned by Lansford Fire Department.

When he arrives, he turns on the lights and siren to let people know that Broncos Country Engine 7 is on the scene and ready to rock. The rig bears the number of his all-time favorite, John Elway.
