Responding Boston Fire Engine Strikes Man

The man suffered life-threatening injuries while the four firefighters were transported for stress-related issues.

A man hit by a Boston fire truck Wednesday afternoon sustained life-threatening injuries.

The rig was responding to a call in Dorchester about 12:30 p.m. when it struck the 34-year-old man on Bowdoin Street, WBZ reported. 

He was rushed to a hospital in an life support ambulance. 

The four firefighters on the engine were transported to the hospital for stress, a department spokesperson said.
