Czech Republic Firefighters Rescued from Rig by Helicopter

The fire truck became swamped by flood water as the crew was headed to assist residents.

Firefighters were rescued by helicopter from the roof of their fire truck after it was submerged by floodwater in the Czech Republic.

The crew had been sent to help people affected by the flooding when they got stranded themselves, according to Al Jazeera.

During a separate incident, an Austrian fireighter died while pumping water from the cellar of a building.
