IN Firefighter Accused in Series of Home Construction Arsons

An Indiana volunteer firefighter is accused of intentionally starting a series of fires at home construction sites.

Jake Dougherty, who has been with the Whiteland Fire Department since February, faces three counts of arson and other charges, WXIN-TV reports. He is accused of setting a string of fires at houses being built in Greenwood and Whiteland.

The Whiteland Fire Department's operations chief told WXIN that Doughtery, 18, is on unpaid suspension, and the department is pursuing termination.
