Fire officials said three people died in an early morning New Castle house fire Wednesday.

Crews were called to the home about 5:30 a.m. and found two victims shortly after they began searching the structure, officials told WKBN.com.

A woman and her 17-year-old daughter died, along with a 18-year-old friend.

The woman's son was away at a sleepover.

New Castle Fire Chief Michael Kobbe said the fire likely started in the kitchen.
