With an uptick in vacant home fires, Louisville firefighters are urging residents to be vigilant.
While no one has been hurt in the fires, Louisville Major Bobby Cooper said they do pose a risk to neighbors, WLKY reported.
Between Sept. 1, 2020, and Sept. 1, 2022, firefighters responded to nearly 200 fires at vacant buildings, Cooper told reporters.
He encourages residents to call 911 if they believe they're in danger. Fires in vacant buildings can spread and damage nearby residences.
