Three Dead in Econo Lodge Fire in Wooster Township, OH

Wooster Township firefighters were unable to reach the victims, Fire Chief Dallas Terrell said.

Three people were killed in a raging five-alarm fire in an Econo Lodge in Wooster Township.

 “En route we were told by dispatch that there is people on 9-1-1 saying they’re trapped in the building," Wooster Township Fire Chief Dallas Terrell told WKYC, adding that firefighters called for additional assistance.

Flames were through the roof as firefighters made several attempts to reach people in the room. But those efforts weren't successful.

“This is a horrible tragedy. And we’re very sorry for their loss."
