Fire at BWI Airport Parking Garage Leaves One Burned

One person suffered non-life-threatening burn injuries after a fire broke out at a BWI Marshall Airport parking garage Thursday morning.
Jonathan Dean, a spokesperson for the airport, said the fire led to the temporary closure of the parking garage.
“There was no impact on airline flight operations. The Daily Garage was fully reopened at about 2:00 p.m.,” Dean said in an email.
The fire was caused by a leak in the gas manifold that services the multistory parking garage, according to a news release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
About 30 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County and BWI Marshall Airport responded to the blaze after a landscaper discovered it.
The fire damaged the exterior of the parking garage and a commercial lawn mower, causing roughly $300,000 in damages.
One person was taken to the burn center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
