KANSAS CITY, Kan. --
A man unloading a trailer at a Kansas City, Kan., loading dock suffered first- and second-degree burns Friday morning.
Firefighters said the man was unloading the trailer at a building in the 1400 block of N. 3rd Street when a flash fire happened. Investigators said some foam packing peanuts somehow caught fire.
The man's face and hands were burned.
Firefighters said he was treated at the scene of the fire for his injuries, and was taken to a hospital.
The trailer where the fire happened was pulled away from the building so that the fire would not spread. Firefighters extinguished the fire in the trailer in about 15 minutes.
The investigation into how the foam peanuts caught fire is continuing.
