HACKETTSTOWN -- A Centenary College student is behind bars after being charged with arson, police say.
Andrew C. Van Hoy, 20, of Indian Mills, N.J., sprayed a flammable liquid on the wall of a dorm room Wednesday night and then lit it, police say.
Police were patrolling near the campus when they heard an alarm at Anderson Hall, police say.
Police checked the dorm and found the alarm was coming from room 111, which was filled with smoke.
The fire itself was out when police arrived.
Hackettstown firefighters responded to check the building and ensure the fire was completely out, police say.
