Fire marshals have arrested two men in connection with an arson that left 20 Brooklyn families and 100 children homeless on the eve of Yom Kippur.
The Oct. 4 blaze began in a vacant building at 533 Flushing Ave. in Williamsburg and spread to three other houses containing family apartments and gutted a grocery store, dry cleaner and synagogue.
Eight large Hasidic families and some Polish and Hispanic families were left homeless by the devastating fire on the eve of the Jewish community's holiest day.
William Jones of 21 Nostrand Ave. was arrested Oct. 28 and Peter Pierre of 265 Lee Ave. was arrested Nov. 4, following an investigation, according to FDNY officials.
