Man Dies Days after Fire at West Greenwich, RI. Auto Shop

The 78-year-old resident lived in an apartment above the business, Lake Mishnock Fire Chief Joseph Schindler said.

 A 78-year-old man has died several days after fire ripped through a West Greenwich auto shop.

Lake Mishnock Fire Chief Joseph Schindler said Gary French lived in an apartment above the auto care business, WPRI reported. 

Firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke. 

French was transported to a hospital where he died.

The cause is under investigation.
