Two Young Girls Accused of Setting Fires in Pa. City

Sept. 17--JOHNSTOWN -- Two juvenile girls are expected to be charged in connection with two attempted arson fires in the Hornerstown section of Johnstown on Saturday, authorities said.
City police Chief Craig Foust said the girls, ages 9 and 13, attempted to start structure fires on Oak and Hickory streets around 8 p.m.
Witnesses helped police identify the girls as suspects, he said.
City fire Chief Anthony Kovacic said an outdoor fire was reported in the 300 block of Hickory Street at 7:52 p.m., but the fire was put out as firefighters arrived.
It's not clear who put out the fire, he said.
At 8:08 p.m., a small fire was reported inside a vacant stucture in the rear 400 block of Oak Street. Firefights put out the fire using a water can, Kovacic said.
The girls will face charges in the juvenile court system, Foust said.
