Vineland firefighters found the cryptic message on the side of the home during Thursday's response.

July 28--Vineland firefighters and police have launched a joint investigation to determine if arson was to blame for a fire at a home that had a threatening message spray painted on its side.

The Daily Journal reports that Vineland firefighters arrived on scene early Thursday to tackle a blaze at a split-level home and found the words "You Will Die" scrawled along the side of the house in black spray paint.

After a group of about 35 firefighters from several companies brought the blaze under control in just under an hour, the home was surrounded by crime scene tape while investigators gathered evidence and studied the fire's burn pattern to determine if an accelerant was used.

Investigators said seven family members, including an infant, escaped the fire unharmed.
