Sep. 1--Fifteen Daly City residents were displaced Saturday evening after an apartment fire broke out in a two-story building on School Street, according to the North County Fire Authority.
Firefighters arrived on scene with smoke billowing from a second-floor unit in the back of the building, the fire authority said.
They entered through the front door and found flames coming from a storage room in the apartment. Fire crews contained the fire to the storage area and a hallway, though there was heat and smoke damage throughout the unit, according to the fire authority.
Six fire companies reported to the scene. The displaced residents received housing assistance through the American Red Cross. No one was injured, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
