Shooting Victim Asks Cleveland FFs for Help

Cleveland firefighters on a scene Sunday night ended up helping a shooting victim who walked up to them after being wounded at another location.

July 23 -- CLEVELAND, OH -- Firefighters on a scene Sunday evening ended up helping a shooting victim who walked up to them after being wounded, police say.

Police spokesman Det. Reginald Lanton says the 21-year-old male victim approached firefighters on the 1000 block of East 168th Street, just east of Humphrey Park near the Waterloo Arts District and North Collinwood neighborhoods.

Lanton said the male had been wounded in the side in a possible drive-by shooting at a different location. Lanton did not say where the shooting might have occurred.

An ambulance was called to the scene for the shooting victim, whose condition was not released.

The incident remains under investigation.
