Man Steals Phoenix Ambulance with FFs, Patient Inside

The suspect only drove 377 feet before a Phoenix firefighter pushed him out of the driver's seat.

Four Phoenix firefighters were in the back of an ambulance working on a patient when a man slid behind the wheel and drove away.

But Jaysun Smith, 31, only drove about 377 feet before a Phoenix firefighter him out of the driver's seat, AZFamily reported.

Charged with theft and kidnapping, he is being held in lieu of $4,500 bail. 

Officers have not determined a motive.
