The Purple Demon of the East End Hose & Fire Company of Coal Township, PA, is a refurbished 2001 Pierce Dash pumper. The color stems from the company's wish to honor the long forgotten 1950s football teams of the Coal Township High School. These teams were devastating to opponents and were undefeated. The were known as "The Purple Demons". The rig was refurbished by Diamond Rescue Supplies of El Paso TX. The pumper is powered by a Detroit Diesel 500 hp engine and an Allison transmission. It also has a 2,000 gpm pump and a 500-gallon water tank with twin 20-gallon Class A and B foam cells. Watch a video of the refurbishing process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfYutm1xErE
