Lung cancer overtook breast cancer as the leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States in 1987 and now claims the lives of more women each year than breast, ovarian and cervical cancers combined 159,480 people will die from lung cancer this year, that™s 433 people per day. The American Lung Association is working every day to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease Step Up. Support. Succeed Join the American Lung Association & compete in a challenge unlike any other! The Fight for Air Climb: Scale 360 State Street is a unique "vertical marathon" that will allow participants from CT & surrounding areas to race, run, or walk up 32 floors! Racers & elite runners will climb first, followed by walking participants. Finally, firefighters from all over New England will climb over 400 stairs in FULL GEAR.
