Three Mobile firefighters were burned in a flashover while battling a blaze at a duplex last night, according to WALA-TV.
The fire on Bush Avenue was reported at approximately 7:30 p.m. A department spokesman said the firefighters were burned when the fire "flashed" as they were exiting the building.
One of the firefighters was transported to the hospital with second degree burns on his thumb. The second firefighter while another had blistering on his arm and ears while the third was burned on his neck, according to the report.
Residents of the duplex were able to safely evacuate the structure.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
