ALBANY, N.H. --

Alcohol may have contributed to a fatal collision overnight in Albany that involved a minivan and a golf cart, according to New Hampshire State Police.

David Reed, 47, of Fryeburg, Maine, was driving a minivan southbound on Route 16 at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of Pine Knoll Camp Ground, according to a state police statement. He was not injured in the collision.

State police investigators said the Jared Fronterio, 33, of Gloucester, Mass., was also driving southbound on Route 16 at the time of the collision. Passengers in the golf cart included Robin Clohecy, 34, of Groveland, Mass.; Andrew Morrissey, 31, of Newton, Mass.; and an unidentified 11-year-old child.

All four occupants of the golf cart were taken to Memorial Hospital in Conway, where Clohecy was pronounced dead. Morrissey and the 11-year-old child were treated for minor injuries and released.

A medical helicopter flew Fronterio to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries. Fronterio's condition was not immediately known.

State police continued to investigate a cause Sunday, saying alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor.

Several police and fire officials assisted in the emergency response, including crews from Conway, Tamworth, Ossipee and Carroll County.
