CHARLOTTE, N.C. --
Six people lost their home and a dog after an overnight fire in east Charlotte.
Firefighters were called to a home on Kennon Street near Parkwood Avenue and The Plaza shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.
The Charlotte Fire Department said it took 22 firefighters about 25 minutes to control the fire.
Six people were inside the home when the fire broke out. They all got out safely, but a dog inside the home died.
Investigators dont know what started the fire. The Red Cross is now helping the displaced victims.
