Cincinnati Firefighter Injured in Blaze
CINCINNATI --
Firefighters were called to a serious house fire along Safari Drive Monday night.
The fire broke out at about 9:30 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Safari Drive and Hamilton Avenue.
Fire crews said they had to take a defensive stance against the fire because it was so intense.
One firefighter was injured shortly after 10:30 p.m., but medics did not release his condition.
Several departments were called to the scene and Hamilton Avenue was shut down between Springdale Road and Greenpine Drive for a time.
Dispatchers said several propane tanks were found at the scene but they were secured and posed no threat. Extra water tankers were called to the scene.
A rehab station was set up for firefighters due to the heat.
Fire crews said that the fire destroyed the home. Investigators said they did not believe anyone was home at the time of the fire and that the fire was not suspicious in origin.
