LOUISVILLE, Ky. --
Louisville officials have put a price tag on how much money is owed to firefighters because of overtime.
An audit by the labor cabinet indicated the gross amount of overtime compensation owed to the firefighters is more than $17,600,000.
The amount does not include any additional employer costs for Social Security, Medicare or pension.
In October, the Kentucky Supreme Court denied a city request to overturn a lower court's ruling that overtime was miscalculated for five years.
The firefighters union will not comment on the dollar figure.
The next court date is scheduled for Thursday.
