Fire Damages South Carolina Chemical Plant

April 17, 2006
The fire was contained to an outbuilding.

Firefighters around Fort Mill were called to the Nation's Ford Chemical Company around midnight.

Investigators say a hydraulic line in a manufacturing process ruptured near a boiler. That caused the fluid in the boiler to catch fire.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to an outbuilding. No one was hurt.

Nation's Ford makes organic chemicals like dyes and pigments.
