Body Found Burning in Texas Field

The body of a man was found burning in a field on the city's far West Side early Tuesday.

A San Antonio police officer noticed a patch of grass on fire off Loop 1604 near Highway as he was going home at 4:30 a.m. and called the fire department.

Firefighters discovered the charred remains after they put out the blaze.

Police have not determined if the victim is a man who was beaten and kidnapped from his East Side home late Monday.

A police helicopter was hovering over the area in an effort to locate the man's pickup, which was taken by the man's captors.
