Five fire companies arrived at the scene

The Red Cross is helping more than a dozen families after a fire tore through a Monroeville apartment complex overnight.

Six people were hurt, including three firefighters.

Only the frames of the building are left of some apartments at the Cambridge Apartment Complex.

At least five fire companies responded to the scene along Cambridge Square Drive.

Holly Capuano said, I threw hardly anything on. The flames and fire -- it was really bad so I started banging on everyone's door to get out.

I just told my daughter, 'Grab your shoes and let's go,' Terri Hogan said.

Dozens of people were left with only the clothes on their backs.

Over 20 units were destroyed.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
