A southwest Houston apartment complex erupted into a three-alarm fire Thursday afternoon, KPRC Local 2 reported.
The blaze broke out at the Renwick Square Apartments, located at 7100 Renwick, at about 3:15 p.m.
Firefighters had a difficult time finding the exact location of the fire at first because it was in a void wall, which is a space hidden between two walls that is used by electricians and plumbers.
The blaze was tapped out by 4:30 p.m.
At least 16 apartments were destroyed by the fire, smoke or water damage.
Investigators said it spread through the attic.
There's no word yet on the cause.
No injuries were reported.
