Cleveland Man Dies from Kitchen Fire

Investigators believe the man was cooking on the stove when the fire started and he succombed to the smoke while trying to put it out.

Cleveland firefighers are investigating a blaze Saturday afternoon that left a Cleveland man dead.

Investigators said the fire was contained to the kitchen of the house on Mortimer Avenue.

The blaze smothered itself by the time firefighters arrived at about 2:20 p.m.

Elroy Reiman, 56, was found dead inside the home. Officials said he died from smoke inhalation. However, the coronor will rule on the official cause of death.

Investigators believe Reiman was cooking on the stove when the fire started and he succombed to the smoke while trying to put it out.

Smoke alarms were working in the home.
