A Baltimore City Fire Department ambulance was stolen then recovered earlier today (Feb. 13), according to spokesman Kevin Cartwright.
Cartwright said a paramedic crew transported a patient to the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore at approximately 10:30 a.m. When the crew returned to the emergency bay where the ambulance was park; it was gone.
The crew then contacted their supervisor as well as the police department. Several hours later the ambulance was recovered in Stafford County, Va., according to Cartwright.
He added that at this point there is no report of any damage or theft to the ambulance.
The suspect, whose name has name not been released, was taken into custody by members of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office following the recovery of the emergency vehicle.
