DES MOINES, Iowa --

Des Moines fire officials are calling a Friday night house fire "suspicious."

A spokesperson said firefighters found gasoline at the house located near the corner of Saylor Road and East Holcomb Avenue.

The fire started in the attic and spread to the front room, firefighters said. The ceiling in the living room also collapsed.

The spokesman said the house appeared to be vacant, but fire officials are now talking with people who claim to live there.
