Florida Family Escapes Fire Through Windows

Two people, both juveniles, were hospitalized for glass cuts and smoke inhalation.

ORLANDO, Fla. --

Two people, both juveniles, were hospitalized for glass cuts and smoke inhalation after an early- morning fire started in their home on West Harwood Street in Orlando.

A total of four occupants in the home escaped through windows. The two hospitalized were male and female and the other two people who did not need to go to the hospital were one male juvenile and an adult female. Two dogs did not survive the blaze.

Police said they had to hold back one woman because she was overwhelmed by the loss.

The American Red Cross was called to the residence to help provide housing assistance.

The State Fire Marshal is conducting an investigation as to what caused the fire.
