Two Charlotte firefighters were injured in a house fire Thursday afternoon in west Charlotte. Both are expected to make complete recoveries.

One firefighter was struck by burning debris when the front part of the roof on the Vanizer Street home collapsed. He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital by paramedics.

A second firefighter was taken to an area clinic for a minor hand injury.

Fire officials said one person was home when the blaze began around 3 p.m., but that person was able to escape unharmed.

The damage to the home is estimated at $30,000.

The home next to the house fire was also damaged on the outside from the heat.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
