Authorities said a 3-year-old boy was found dead after firefighters controlled a fire in a house where 10 people were living.

The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. Sunday at a residence in the 700 block of Glencoe Street.

Seven fire crews responded to the scene.

David Peay, a battalion chief with the Winston-Salem Fire Department, said the house was nearly destroyed. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.

No names have been released.
