BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- Arson investigators were looking into the cause of a fire that left 11 people homeless and forced two of them to jump from the second floor.
No one was seriously injured.
Flames and smoke consumed the George Street house on Saturday afternoon. Fire officials said the two men who jumped landed on top of a van and suffered minor injuries.
Authorities believed the fire began in the basement apartment.
The American Red Cross provided temporary housing at a local motel for the two families who lived at the house. The agency also gave them groceries and money for replacement clothes.
