A Chicago "red and white" may end up working the streets of Baghdad if officials can find the right airplane to get it there.

A Chicago "red and white" may end up working the streets of Baghdad of an alderman can find the right airplane to get it there.

Alderman James Balcer proposed donating an obsolete ambulance to the City of Baghdad.

Chicago retires its fire department ambulances after five years. Balcer says the ambulance would still be useful when it makes it to Baghdad.

The City Council police and fire committee approved donation of the ambulance to Baghdad. But Balcer says he still hasn't lined up shipment which would have to be paid for on the receiving end.

The ambulance would be shipped to Kuwait or Dubai from where the Chicago ambulance will have to be driven to Baghdad.
