A man died from smoke inhalation in a house fire that appears to be accidental, a fire investigator said.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- A man died from smoke inhalation in a house fire that appears to be accidental, a fire investigator said.

Rodney Eugene Tate, 43, died in the Sunday morning fire, officials said.

Fire investigator Henry McElvain said the fire appeared to be accidental although the exact cause was not immediately determined.
