Officials say six people have been killed in the crash of a plane into a house in the Lakeway area.
All six dead were on board the plane, according to officials with the Federal Aviation Administration. No one in the house was injured.
The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. when the plane hit a home at 75 The Hills Drive. The house backs up to the Hills of Lakeway golf course and is in a gated community.
A resident of a nearby home reported around 12:30 p.m. that smoke continued to rise from the house that was struck.
The Lakeway Airpark is nearby.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman John Clabes confirms six fatalities and says nobody on the ground was hurt.
Clabes also says officials believe the plane was attempting to land when it hit the house.
