This morning five teens in Powhatan are safe after being trapped by rushing water, but the danger isn't over.

The teens were traveling on Powhatan Lakes Road last night when a tree fell in front of their car. The teens got out of the car and started to walk when they got caught in a flash flood.

Four of the teens were swept away. Emergency crews reached all of the teens after a 2 and a half hour rescue attempt.

Officials are warning people to stay away from Powhatan Lakes Dam. They tell us the dam's in danger of breaking
