Several weeks after a tenant brought to light a potential hazard at a Bayonne senior citizens building, the city is trying to correct the situation.

At a public meeting of the Bayonne Housing Authority last month, the tenant asked what could be done to change the contents of a recorded message - activated by a fire alarm - urging residents of Post Road Gardens on Avenue A to evacuate their apartments rather than stay in them, which city fire officials regard as the wiser alternative.
