Battalion Chief David Arnold said the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.

No injuries were reported in connection with a trailer fire on Thursday morning in Lookout Valley.

The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 8:07 a.m. and responded to 323 Kelleys Ferry Place with several engine companies.

Battalion Chief David Arnold said the trailer was fully engulfed in flameswhen the first firefighters arrived on the scene. Chattanooga firefighters worked quickly to douse the flames, and protect another trailer located about 10 feet away.

The resident, Angela Zarzour, 37, said she was in bed when she started smelling smoke. When Ms. Zarzour walked into the living room, she discovered that her couch was on fire. She grabbed her 3-year-old son and escaped without injury before calling 9-1-1.

She later told firefighters that she believed her son started the fire with matches or a cigarette lighter.

The trailer was considered a total loss. The adjacent trailer had some minor damage to the siding. The American Red Cross was called in to provide assistance to the family.
