They're calling him a hero -- a 6-year old boy -- remaining calm and having the good sense to get his mother and call 9-1-1 when he found his little brother choking.
This is the frantic 911 call from a 6-year-old boy as his 15-month-old brother struggled to breathe. Andrew Fusco was calm and collected enough to call for help.
Operator: "Police operator 1175 where's your emergency?
Andrew: "...he's tryin'...the baby throw up. He swallowed something. He swallowed a quarter."
It happened Wednesday afternoon when little Branden swallowed a quarter. Fortunately, his mother and older brother were nearby.
Melissa Fusco, Mother: "I started hitting him on the back and when that wasn't working and he was still kind of gasping for air I told Andrew to call 911."
Operator: "What apartment? Second floor?"
Andrew: "Yeah, he's throwing up everywhere."
Operator: "How old are you?"
Andrew: "Six. And my little brother is one."
Operator: "Ok, he's a one year old baby."
Andrew: "Yeah."
Branden eventually coughed up the quarter and his parents say he's doing just fine after his brother came through.
Andrew said that he feels like a hero. And his mother says this is a good example why it is important to teach kids their addresses and how to call 911.
