Canadian Firefighter Missing; Officials Asking Public For Help

Police are asking for assistance in locating a Saint John firefighter who has been missing since Thursday. Joseph Terrance (Terry) Gallant was last seen about 9 a.m. on Thursday in the Market Square area. Mr. Gallant, 38, is caucasian, five foot 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He is of medium build and has short brown hair that is partially grey. He has blue eyes, a moustache and goatee. He has a tattoo of a Tasmanian Devil on his upper left arm, a Maltese Cross on his right upper shoulder and a link-chain band tattoo on his upper right bicep.

He was last seen dressed in light-coloured blue jeans and brown lace-up shoes and was carrying an umbrella. He may have been wearing a navy blue cap.

Police say it is uncharacteristic for Mr. Gallant to go away without telling anyone.
