Within the next three years, the seven fire departments in Orangetown are in jeopardy of losing about 70 firefighters of various ages because of the lack of affordable housing, said Frank Hutton, a firefighter for 34 years and the vice chairman of the Committee to Promote Volunteerism of Rockland County's Emergency Services Inc.
