Dec. 18--STOCKTON -- A spectacular fire in an abandoned warehouse at 1825 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. quickly went to three alarms shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday, bringing out most of the Stockton Fire Department's arsenal to fight the stubborn blaze.
Two aerial ladder trucks took positions around the large wood-frame building, raining tons of water down on the burning structure as flames continued to flare high into the cold night sky.
Firefighters on the scene reported the building would probably burn down to the ground because the large wood beams were old and dry. They were working to keep the flames from spreading to adjacent structures.
Nothing was stored in the building, fire officials reported.
Signs outside the building, which parallels Bieghle Alley, advertise it for lease through Lee & Associates.
