A FIREFIGHTER has been suspended from duty, following allegations that inappropriate comments have been made on Twitter.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has launched an investigation, after the fire officer, who serves at Ammanford's station, allegedly tweeted the messages while on duty.
One of the alleged tweets is said to have contained swear words.
The officer was reported to management following the alleged tweets.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it was carrying out an internal investigation.
A spokesman for the service said: "We can confirm that a member of staff from Ammanford has been suspended.
"An internal investigation is currently under way.
"It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
The investigation comes after two other fire officers were suspended, following an incident near Lampeter in November.
Two officers were alleged to have passed on concerns about equipment which failed during a call-out.
That incident involved the introduction of controversial Rural Response Pumps, prompting the Fire Brigades Union to issue a safety notice because claiming they were not fit for purpose, and did not have enough water in their tanks to put out even a small fire.
