Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know Regulations

March 30, 2009

This month on Campus Firewatch Radio we are focusing on the regulations for the Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know (RTK) that was signed into law last August. Currently, a team of people are working with the Department of Education on developing these regulations in a series of meetings in Washington. The first one was held at the beginning of March and additional ones will be taking place in April and May.

To help offer insight into collecting and reporting information, host Ed Comeau is joined by Police Chief Barbara O'Connor from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign; Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal Weston Arvin from the University of California at Davis and Director Fred Knipper of the Fire and Safety Division of Duke University. Each guest has a unique perspective and a lot of experience that can help schools in implementing the RTK law.

If you have suggestions, questions or comments, please e-mail them to: [email protected].
