GA Firefighter/Paramedic Dies of COVID-19

A firefighter/paramedic who served in the Atlanta metro area died of COVID-19 complications last week after contracting the virus at the fire station in August.

The U.S. Fire Administration on Wednesday announced the line-of-duty death of Forest Park Fire and Emergency Services firefighter/paramedic John Clay Gaddy.

Gaddy, a former police officer and a 12-year veteran of the fire service, was posthumously promoted to Deputy Fire Marshal, according to USFA.

An obituary posted by the Claude A. McKibben and Sons funeral home says that Gaddy, 48, leaves behind a wife, four children and five grandchildren.
