Car Crashes Into Chicago Chili's, Eight Injured

Oct. 16--CHICAGO -- Eight people were taken to area hospitals in serious-to-critical condition after a car plowed into the Chili's at 1750 W. 119th Street in Chicago's Morgan Park neighborhood Saturday night. The driver of the car is among the people injured. Police are trying to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the car around 10:30 p.m. Eight ambulances and firefighters responded to the scene to help the injured and extinguish a fire that flared up shortly after the crash.

Police are trying to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the car around 10:30 p.m.

Eight ambulances and firefighters responded to the scene to help the injured and extinguish a fire that flared up shortly after the crash.

One woman eating inside said it was scary.

"I've never experienced that. It seemed like a bomb went off. It seemed like it happened in slow motion," said Tracey Offett.

The incident remains under investigation.
