IONIA, MI—An overnight fire caused substantial damage to an old house on East Main Street, Ionia Department of Public Safety said.
Firefighters responded around 10:45 p.m. Monday, July 15, to a fire in the 100 block of East Main.
Firefighters found fire and heavy smoke coming from the two-story house. Eventually, fire broke through the roof.
The historic house was destroyed by the fire, the Ionia Sentinel-Standard reported.
Ionia Public Safety requested help from Lyons-Muir and Berlin-Orange fire departments.
No one was injured.
Authorities said early Tuesday that the house sustained significant damage.
